Economic Benefit

Miami Wilds will provide a significant boost to the South Dade economy creating an estimated 304 jobs for area residents when it opens and 403 jobs when fully operational. Average salaries will be in excess of $35,000 per year. In addition, the project is committed to creating a skilled jobs training program for local job seekers in conjunction with local schools and colleges. Miami Wilds creates broad opportunities for local business enterprises to participate through a Small Business Enterprise partnership and vendor program during construction and in ongoing operations. Miami Wilds also will establish senior and retiree workforce outreach programs. Miami Wilds fulfills a commitment made to South Dade residents to rebuild the area’s economy in wake of the devastating 1992 Hurricane Andrew that destroyed much of the local infrastructure and business base. With 45% of guests expected to be from out-of-town, Miami Wilds will have a significant impact on the area’s hospitality industry further strengthening South Dade’s position as a major tourist destination.

Community Partnership

Miami Wilds will foster partnerships with neighboring organizations and educational institutions including employment and student internships in career and technical programs for hospitality management, culinary, events management and more. Other community-oriented efforts will include an advanced lifeguard training program, security patrols, partnerships with not-for-profit service agencies for fund raising as well as membership in local chambers and local economic development organizations so that Miami Wilds is a fully engaged member within the regional business community.
